Pick you own Pin Up! The 100 Pin Up Project

Lilly Kitten's Journal

I need a serious boost to get myself back into drawing again, and there's no boost quite like the 100 picture project... Unless it's two 100 Picture projects!

Yup, never content to do it easy, Lilly is taking on two 100 picture projects to wake up that art vibe.

One will be comic art, character stuff in reply to the previous poll that so overwhelmingly showed your interest :heart::heart:
It's been written by my writer targeting ideas and situations she'd like to see me illustrate. Fair, after all, she's the person I need to please when it comes to comic art.

But the second... that's going to be pin up art. And who do i please with Pin Up art, I ask?
That would be YOU.

So in a unique experiment, I want YOU to give me Pin Up topics!

Yes, tell me your hearts desire (or perhaps not quite your heart) and if you like, the gender of the pin up- orientation even, if it's that important to you and see exactly how it turns out.... And you get your icon beside it ^^

Start with one topic. If I run out of replies and suggestions before I hit 100, I'll put the call out for seconds.

So what are you waiting for?

Store News

Etsy Lockdown!

In light of this struggle to get out of a rut, I've shut down a few of my Etsy stores. My Pin Up, Steampunk and Kids' stores are closed temporarily until I get my feet back under me. My fantasy store is open still, but limited to selling off a whole heap of tumbled stones from my days selling crystals at markets.

The only real stores still open are my main store selling only logo commissions right now, and my lolita store which was too popular to shut.

Hey! I'm Kat. I met you at the market on Sunday. I finally have a bit of free time so I thought I'd get on here and upload some stuff and stalk you as promised. Also I have a topic for your 100 pin ups project. How do I submit it?
K it's late and I should go.
Catch up later!
Kat.
:iconlillykitten:
Hi!
Yey! You made it! I poked around on your site, you're really bloody good at photography! I'm shocking... but I only really photograph friends, family, clothing and my creepy collection of BJDs.
You submit topics by commenting on my journal... or just saying so here ^^
I'm actually plannign to turn the 100 Pin upo Project into a gallery exhibit... *bounces* So suggestions are more then welcome!!
:iconshelbelly:
hey thanks for the :+devwatch: :)
:iconlord-quake666:
Thanks for the add LillyKitten :D also thanks for organizing the meet. Sadly I didn't get to talk to many people because I was too shy, but it was certainly fun :)

Thanks for coming!

Sorry that I didn't come over and talk more. I was flitting group to group- and I'm easily distracted. Next time I won't let you be so shy! Or at least I'll come over and chat.

Kept meaning to ask if that was a Warhammer badge i spied you wearing...
:iconlord-quake666:
Hey that's ok, I usually feel a bit out of place at a lot of the doll meets (considering I'm one of the only few male doll collectors in melb :P). Hopefully next time I feel a bit more comfortable, since I've been a part of the melb doll community since like 2005.

Oh and yes, I was wearing an imperial eagle on my coat. I kinda just wear it to show off the fact that I'm a warhammer 40,000 geek and also it makes my 4 year old coat look a lot better... since it's falling apart. I actually have a whole bunch of warhammer 40,000 badges, but they didn't seem to want to fit onto my lapels, because their pins weren't long enough.

:iconlillykitten:
Wow, certainally an impressively long time! How many dolls do you have now, over all that time?
I personally don't give a toss what gender someone is in BJD collecting. It's closer to character creation then anything else really, and that's totally non gender specific. But saying that, i can understand the akwardness. People stereotype out of ignorance of the hobby- and just in general. That and it was majority girls there...

Which army do you collect?
Warhammer and BJDs... expensive hobbies! Seems all the decent collections are painfully expensive, but have a habit of owning your soul.

Well you did a damn good job of hiding your coat condition, it looked new to me ^^. Perhaps it was just the absence of a thick layer of cat hair mine is always covered in, despite my efforts.
:iconlord-quake666:
I currently have 7 BJDs from all over the place. They're all pretty nice and have custom faceup, which are all pretty nice. Not sure if you saw my redheaded girl, she's got some amazing freckles painted all over her and I certainly love what my friend did with her faceup.
And about the gender thing, usually I'm not too worried, I just feel a bit awkward talking to some of the collectors since almost all of them are girls except for 3 or 4 guys in melbourne.

With Warhammer, I actually collect a few different armies, but currently I have a massive Blood Angel space marine army, I have something like 100+ troops sitting on my desk at the moment as they wait their new paint job (Boy am I scared by the fact that I can even hold that many on my desk >.>;).

Hah, yeah I did do a good job at hiding the condition, but really, it's pretty old and falling apart, you can actually see how bad it is when you look at it close up. That being said I do have a brand new one waiting for me to wear it. (from the same shope, because I noticed they had one in my size still).
